I’m Jane and I’ve been a full-time people photographer for over 15 years with a studio in West Hartford, Connecticut.

I’ve photographed over 200 weddings, 500 families, and been published in over 100 magazines from Time to Forbes to Martha Stewart Weddings.  I’ve also photographed portraits of the New York Mets for TV ads and the JumboTron at Citi Field for 12 years and worked for corporate clients including The Hartford, M&T Bank, and SportsNet NY.

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) the median annual wage for photographers in 2020 was $36,280.  I believe that’s not enough to live on comfortably…especially if you want to travel, save for education, and create a retirement nest egg.  And I believe photography is so important that it should be well compensated so photographers can not just survive, but thrive.
